the local news had "santa" on today. he was pretty gross and really fat. his hair was like yellow/white and hung well beyond his shoulders in the back. that's right, mr. claus had a mullet. the newscasters were clearly uncomfortable sharing the spotlight and definitely did well beyond their fair share of waving when it was time to bid santa farewell.
and the best? was they said something about where you could take pics with santa, and they popped up a screen with the location and a little pic of santa and it totally wasn't the same guy. it was like a stock photo.
*can't wait to see how the box of cereal gift goes over with my dad. he got me a just-pulled-this-out-of-a-gift-bag-from-work popcorn ball last year. and a cutting board. right. so even though it isn't the depression, this cereal (nature's path organic pumpkin flax plus granola with omega 3's and 6's in case you're curious) is damn tasty. so i bought a box last night at trader joe's. i was there to get another present. a bottle of wine for my dad's new wife. some time ago, i began the tradition of wrapping her presents in "ho ho ho" paper. it's brought countless chuckles from mom and i. this year cb2 had a really classy looking bag that takes the joke a step farther. even better. it's ho³. i'm going to laugh my ass off. indeed.
