1. what did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before?
moved to a new city, hired movers, spent nye in nyc, lots of stuff.
2. did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more next year?
i'm not really into those anymore. but moving was one of them. exercise another--that one worked until i moved--left over from last year. correspondence seems to be not as great as i'd like it to be.

3. did anyone close to you give birth?
no. thank god.

4. did anyone close to you die?
no.

5. what places did you visit?
san diego, nyc, atlanta, new smyrna, jupiter, everything in between.

6. what would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
direction. goals. more so than 2004.

7. what date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
nye. it was awesome and fun and i saw my friends. also the day i was laid off. that changed me forever. dec 19th was pretty amazing too. the day before life altering.

8. what was your biggest achievement of the year?
moving. getting a job. making lots of friends.

9. what was your biggest failure?
i don't like to think in terms of that. it was probably moral though.

10. did you suffer illness or injury?
yes. i fell out of a restaurant/bar. that was in august. my foot is still messed up.

11. what was the best thing you bought?
a label maker from the sixties that types in script.

12. whose behavior merited celebration?
everyones at some point. in small ways. i don't know anyone that saved lives etc.
13. whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
i can’t answer this

14. where did most of your money go?
rent, car.

15. what did you get really, really, really excited about?
books. some movies. people. new places.

16. what songs will always remind you of 2004?
i always blank on this.

me time. art. made music.

wasting time.

20. how will you be spending christmas?
in frankfort, indiana, home of the hotdog and maker of fritos. i vowed not to go home for christmas again. i have never felt so underappreciated. my friends and i are taking up in chitown next year and making our own mutt family. *that is not to say that my mother did not appreciate me. she did. but it seemed like a whole lot of effort for not much return in other respects.

kind of. it's different.

one.

arrested development. gilmore girls. starting over.

25. do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
no.

midddlesex. timbuktu.mysteries of pittsburgh. stiff.

joanna newsom (thanks andie), iron & wine, arcade fire, juana molina.

28. what did you want and get?
amazon g.c. which is close to what i wanted. and the promise of getting the nikormat back.

a new computer.

eternal sunshine

31. what did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
turned 25, got pizza. was really sick all day. too sick to go out. ended up sleeping early. sucked.

32. what one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
bitchin' camero. no fucking clue.

not sure. apparently now it's 70s nordic fashion modelesque.

friends. crazier people than me.

scarlett johansen. hands down.

what didn't? the election was pretty bad. war is worse.

chris and jordan.

erik, emily, alex, brandy, james, hilary.

men and women can be equally scummy. trust is a dangerous thing.
