there is an intersection close to my apartment where weird things have been happening. friday as i was standing trying to hail a cab...
a man in a wheelchair to my right "do you have the time?"
"the time?
"a nickel. a dime."
"no. i'm sorry."
"can you wheel me home?"
"where do you live?"
"the american----nursing home. it's down the street."
"sure."
so i wheeled louis smith back to his residence. i still haven't figured out if it's a nursing home or a mental institution as there was an alarm that went off when we opened the door. it was bare and the man yelled at louis to wrap it up. he told me to visit him and that he'd be home in the mornings...before 1 pm.
sweaty i jumped into the next cab. there was a hose sticking out from the front that blew cold air into my face. it barely cooled anything down as the seats were vinyl and it was at least 92 degrees and humid.
this morning i am walking to the train. my hair is almost white it's so platinum. (i just got it done the other day...and i think f-- might have burned my scalp) anyhow, i'm wearing a black dress and big jackie o black sunglasses. a man passes me. he's carrying what appears to be a leaf blower.
"hi."
"hi."
"are you a movie star or something?"
"no."
but then i wished i would have said yes. that could have been funny.
