as i was flipping through details i came across a photo that made me go back. i thought it was a staged photo of a dead bob dole, in a double-wide open casket with an older lady. i wasn't really thinking about what elizabeth looked like, nor that a double-wide casket just seems well...an unlikely thing.
1 anyhow it made me do a double take and i flipped back. suprisingly it's a marc jacobs ad that's apparently a series of william eggleston and charlotte rampling, romping on a bed with a random lady. it's apparently at least a trilogy of photos as i found two others in the series online, but can't find the exact one that got me. i like the others, but there is something about the one i can't find...i'm still decifering what that is...

juergen teller and will now most definitely have to check out even more of his work.
2. i am fairly certain i knew nothing of william eggleston
2a. had no idea he:
*is a photographer
*is so important in the history of color photography (i'm apparently a moron, but i'm ok with that)
*had a relationship with warhol's superstar viva
*was apparently into post mortem photography (or at minimum recreating it...which just seems weirder)
which is something i find intriguing and important.
3. that viva is apparently the mother of gabby hoffman. fascinating.
1double wide caskets do exist. i had no knowledge of this before today, but i can't say that i'm that suprised. but i think the idea of bob dole being in one is unlikely. it did make me wonder, however, if in some romantic way out, if ever anyone in some tragic accident, victim of freak coincidental timing, or perhaps just being financially sound, was ever buried that way...ie not alone.
